German Train Schedule - destination = Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (HBF)

... with Breisgau-S-Bahn > schedule
Freiburg is located on the main Frankfurt/Main - Basel railway line. From Freiburg main station (Freiburg Hauptbahnhof) take the Breisgau-S-Bahn heading for Breisach.  Exit at the second stop called Freiburg Neue Messe/Universität.

After getting off the train head down the road direction southeast. After 50 meters, turn right on to Berliner Allee (street name) and follow the road for 200 meters. The German Cochrane Centre is located in the building directly at the corner of the streets Berliner Allee and Elsässer Strasse. There is a bakery on the ground floor. The entrance is on the side (look for our sign). Take the elevator or the stairs to the first floor.

Take VAG bus No. 10 direction Paduaallee
Get on at Fahnenbergplatz (7minutes walking distance from train station), see map:

Take VAG tramway No. 5 direction Hornusstraße
Get on at stop Hauptbahnhof (take stairs, escalator or elevator up to the bridge). Exit at stopion Robert-Koch-Straße. There is a 10 minutes walking distance to Berliner Allee 29, see map:

Take Freeway "A5" until the exit "Freiburg-Mitte" (Freiburg center). Take the lane "Freiburg/Titisee-Neustadt". Follow this road (B31) until exit "FR-Bischofslinde/FR-Weingarten". Turn left on Berliner Allee. After approx. 2,5km turn left on Elsässer Straße. The German Cochrane Centre is located in the building directly at the corner of the streets Berliner Allee and Elsässer Strasse. There is a bakery on the ground floor. The entrance is on the side (look for our sign). Take the elevator or the stairs to the first floor.

... by air

Freiburg is just under one hour away by car from the nearest airport Euro-Airport Basel-Mulhouse. Swiss Air and Easy Jet offer frequent flights from many European destinations. The shuttle bus AirportBus run by "Freiburger Reisedienst" departs regularly from the Busbahnhof (central bus station) located next to the Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station) and from the airport. Transfer time to the Euro-Airport is about 50 minutes (approx. 18€ one-way). Please make sure to leave the airport on the French side, not the Swiss side. The airport is located in France but with a special border and road connection to Switzerland.

Major airhubs are Zürich and Frankfurt International Airport, both a 2-hour train ride from Freiburg. Stuttgart Airport is another option, but requires at least one change of trains to Freiburg.

Another small airport is Flughafen Karlsruhe Baden-Baden (Ryan Air, Air Berlin). Recommended transfer via taxi from the airport to Baden-Baden, then ICE-train 45 min to Freiburg.

Strasbourg Airport can be reached in approx. 45 min. per car (Europcar, station Freiburg Hauptbahnhof). The train ride to Freiburg main rail station is about 1 hour.
